A couple of hours north of the city, the rhythm changes.
Photographer and content creator Jason Kowaly recently spent a few days at Scribner’s Catskill Lodge, tucked into the mountains above Hunter, NY. It’s the sort of place where mornings arrive slowly and the air feels a little clearer than the one you left behind in New York City.
Jason brought along a camera and a few rolls of 35mm film, photographing the trip the way he prefers to work — patiently, letting moments unfold rather than chasing them.
The result is a collection of images that feel exactly like the place itself. Soft light across the mountains. Quiet corners of the lodge. Early spring woods still waking up after winter.
He packed a pair of our Willow Chelsea Boots for the trip — an easy companion for a few days spent moving between the porch, the trails, and the road back into town.
Mornings started with coffee looking out toward the mountains. Afternoons meant wandering the property, stepping into the trees, or simply letting the day slow down.
Shot entirely on film, Jason’s photographs carry the texture and warmth that digital sometimes misses — a reminder that some things are better when they’re taken slowly.
Because sometimes the best trips aren’t far away.
